The Out of It tenth anniversary vinyl is in the house and they look sweet and also sound sweet. Weird to think I made that record ten years ago. Preorders are 99% shipped so if you order now it’ll be in the mail to you within a week. Grab one on my Bandcamp page if you so desire.
Better Than Nothing vinyl is still available as well if you want the entire Brad Sucks vinyl collection while supplies last. Be sure to include a note with your order if you want ‘em signed (by me).
Patreon

Thanks to the 63 of all y’all who are sponsoring me on Patreon, the support’s been great and really motivating. I’m loving having a small, friendly audience for songs that aren’t quite ready for the really real world and I’m excited to share what else I’ve been working on. I’m still real new to Patreon, so get in touch if there’s anything you’d like me to share or do on there.
Last month I posted a new version of a song called State of Art and also a video Darren Heroux made for Fun Guy. New song’ll be up in a week!
Shows

This month we did a free show for CityFolk’s Marvest, in an atrium of all places. Probably the most amount of plants I’ve ever played in front of. Got nothing else booked for now but I’d like to do some private solo-ish shows if the opportunity arises. Get in touch if that’s a thing that might be up your alley.
Over and out
Welp, that’s all from me for a while, gonna put my head down and focus on finishing up songs for Patreon which’ll hopefully lead to a new album in the not so distant future. In the meantime I’m posting Instagram stories and tweets and the occasional Facebook posts. Oh, and I’m always lurking in the Brad Sucks Discord as well. Til next time,
Well holy shit guys, it’s been ten years since I released Out of It, my second album. To mark the occasion I’m releasing a fully remastered limited edition vinyl. It’s available for pre-order now and it’ll ship in September. Order it here (scroll down and click on Buy Record/Vinyl). Include a note if you want yours signed! I don’t mind and it makes me feel like a big important guy.
Upcoming Shows
Ottawa, you were kind to me as usual and did a great job tolerating all the new songs we played. Let’s see how these other cities do, though:
Montreal, QC – July 6th: Quai des Brumes
Toronto, ON – August 18th: Smiling Buddha
Please come out to these — I’m very easily discouraged!
New Shirts
There’s a fresh new shirt store! Plus by popular request there’s some I Don’t Know What I’m Doing men’s and women’s shirts you might like?
Fun fact: the I Don’t Know What I’m Doing album art is by Allen Henderson and he hosts a podcast about movies and history called Midmost Coast, check it out!
Other Stuff
I scored this cute little animation that Pendleton Ward made:
That’s all I got for now, working on a lot of stuff I hope I can show you soon. Hit me up on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram! Til next time,
Brad

If you’re looking to get yourself a copy of Better Than Nothing (my completely un-earned ‘greatest hits’) in vinyl and/or digital formats, you can get those over here. There are about 200 records left and after that they’re gone (unless I decide to press more, but the record will look different.)
If you want the record signed, just include a note with your order and I’ll scrawl on it.
The vinyl and the digital versions were remastered separately from each other and from the original unmastered mixes, so I think they sound pretty, pretty good. I’m considering remastering all three records now to bring ’em up to the level of this digital release, but that’s a battle for another time.
Happy holidays and thank you so much for supporting me through the three records that led to this release. I’m doing my best to make the fourth one decent for y’all.
I’ve been getting lots of photos and messages telling me people are getting their Better Than Nothing records which makes me super happy, thanks you guys. I keep starting to write something about how humbling and emotional it is to feel so supported after like a decade and a half of making songs, but then I feel dumb and delete it. So, like, thank you?
The vinyl release party’s November 17th in my hometown of Ottawa. Hope to see you there! Here’s the gig poster by Geoff Gibson (@sisc_daily) who also did the awesome Better Than Nothing album artwork.

A friend recently reminded me that in about a year it’ll be the tenth anniversary of I Don’t Know What I’m Doing‘s first pressing. I’ve had a few requests for vinyl but not really enough to make me confident I won’t lose money and wind up with a big box of records in my basement. Anyone hot to buy it in an ancient format?
Oh yeah here’s the Facebook post.

The history of Vinyl Data has some surprises. I didn’t realize there were artists encoding Sinclair ZX Spectrum programs into their records as far back as 1983 such as Pete Shelly from the Buzzcocks and the Thompson Twins. That’s awful hardcore for 20+ years ago. I would say it beats the crap out of manipulating spectrograms.
Even more awesomely The Thompson Twins included an adventure game (called The Thompson Twins Adventure) where you wander around beaches and caves for no real reason:
You can actually play it online here. OH GOD I FOUND A BOTTLE OF SPICE.
My favorite of course is Urusei Yatsura’s ‘Everybody Loves Uresei Yatsura’ album:
Examining the source for the program reveals the following comments:
“Hi Nick, is Robin there?”
“Judas Priest Satanic Message #3”
“What is sadder: a.) finding this b.) writing it”
