Here’s a question. Someone emailed me and asked me:
Also this is off topic, but if you have any suggestions on where to host an internet radio station please send those as well, as right now we are using a host that will not allow us to do anything live.
But I don’t know anything about internet radio stations. Anyone know the answer?

The local terrestrial station I do shows on uses this for streaming: http://www.nch.com.au/streaming/index.html
Seems to work really well.

If you want to roll your own, your best bet is probably to use a VPS such as LiNode or the like. Depending on the number of listeners you want to support you may need a pretty heavy amount of bandwidth, but on the plus side, things like icecast let you also do repeater stations so you can easily balance the load between a bunch of servers.

Hey Brad,
Great job on your site and I enjoyed checking out your music. I was researching the indy music scene as my wife toured a few states here, performing back in the late 90s – she’s from Brazil. I just wanted to congratulate you on your career and I hope to jump into these ‘indy music’ waters myself! Good luck and God Bless!
