This one’s been a struggle and I think it still needs a bunch of work, but I’m calling the demo done and I’ll come back to it. I was trying to do something a bit different and ehhhh I dunno:

Anyway, that’s a wrap on the demos for the next record. You can listen to them all here (warning: spoilers). Gonna take a short break and then start hassling friends for feedback and then I’ll make a bunch of decisions on what needs to be fixed. And then fix those things.

Please, don’t change the bass (oh. my. God.) and the drums (maybe just add some crash cymbals) – they’re beyond awesome! The rest needs polishing, especially the vocal’s volume, but overall it’s one of the most intriguing, in a most positive way, tracks on the album.

Great intro. Love the drums and the bass the most. Seriously, the drums sound terrific.

damn you kids for stealing the word “furious”. yep. work. put the fire to it. just releasing this demo the way it is shows you are good & ready for the new album.applause! it rocks the hardest,tho. & it’s so long! yes! love, love, love it! these last 2 demos don’t even sound like “brad sucks”.so cool to keep up w/these demos & hear the evolutions in the music. you’re the man!
the song’s been looping on repeat & i couldn’t even tell…you should make it at least twice as long.

I like the music but this extreme voice effect is nothing for me. delete this effect and this song is great.

Brad, man – What is going down with the volume of the vocals on this track? Are you mumbling on purpose? I hug you much – and I shouldn’t complain – you’re music is exemplary in style and musical composition (especially as a one man band). I’ve bought both your previous albums, and most likely will snag this one too. Thanks, Lyn.

Hey sorry for the doublepost its just that I’ve registered now….Can you please tell me what inspired the beat, Because I’ve heard 2 songs that has similiar beats and I think it’s awesome, but the voice effect should of been used on louder and/or clearer vocals imo, anyways awesome job on putting the beat together man!

Honestly I can’t remember if the drums were a loop or if I wrote the line. I’ll keep an eye out if I wind up back in those old projects.

This is shaping up to be one of my favorites from this album, even in its “rough” form. Seriously though, what are the vocals? What are you saying?
Anyway, I have a question: Why do some songs on this demo record have the separate vox-instrument tracks available and others don’t? Is there any rhyme or reason?

pacguy19: I may have dropped this song from the record but I haven’t decided yet. Your comment makes me want to finish it though.
To answer your question: I just got distracted and also nobody was asking for them so it went on the backburner. Now I feel like I want to finish the record and put the new versions out.

Brad: If you do end up dropping it, at least finish the song and release it separately. I think it has real potential.
Also, what do you mean by “new versions”? What, did you re-record instruments, vocals, and stuff like that? Or is just new mixing?

Thanks, I’ll try to do that. I like certain parts of it but have never been able to get it where I wanted it.
I used a lot of the original instrumentals but layered more stuff, cleaned things up a lot. Changed tempos slightly on a few tracks, redid a bunch of guitars. I think I re-recorded all the vocals though I might have left some. The mixing’s getting redone, etc.

With emphasis taken off the vocals it sounds a little like Atoms For Peace ‘Ingenue’ mixed with an old psychedelic vibe. With a bit more work on the mix this could be a really distinct track.
