Hey, here’s another messy demo:

Guess Who’s a Mess (demo)

It’s the title track and will probably be track 6 on Guess Who’s a Mess.

This is totally a case of a pot calling the kettle black, but damn you need to give yourself more credit. If this is a messy demo I can’t wait to hear the finished product!

Like it! Has a Micheal Jackson feeling start to it and then the guitar comes in to show you its actually brad. Then he sings about the drugs and you hear YEP, its brad sucks and he is on a trip! The trip is great and cant wait for the whole album.

Mixing tips: Maybe having the vocals pushed up higher in the mix and being more powerful would sound better IMO and at one point taking that guitar pattern and giving it a little bit more power for when you are in the chorus part. Other than that, ready for the rest!

the “shimmering synth” on “first thing about me” and “uh,huh” break down on this one. Brad Sucks. nice.

It’s a track with certainly a lot of potential, but.. I feel a lead guitar is missing.

HERMES…
here are the lyrics, tried my best, hope they are right…

there you go
you took your medicine
even tho acetamenaphrine
won’t control nearly evrything
that you know
oh well
it’s not enough

everybody says you’re so messed up
but you’re no idiot on the sidelines
take a chance on a modern drug
and maybe you’ll survive the night
alright(oh Yeah)

it’s amazing what what they do today with
animals, and chemicals,and make-up
looking good to me
so hit the pavement
it’s hard to say you’re not already famous

if there’s a place you can be
call the ambulance
and they’ll take you there for free
try to look real(as?) sick
cos you’ll want a magazine
take a trip on the downside
oh well
it’s not enough

everybody says you’re so messed up
but you’re no idiot on the sidelines
take a chance on a modern drug
and maybe you’ll survive the night
oh yeah

it’s amazing what they do today with
animals and chemicals and make-up
looking good to me
so hit the pavement
it’s hard to say you’re not already famous

say you wanna try
but you can’t get it right

you think you’re just so bright
why do the same thing twice

if you could take your life
*then you could make us smile*

and even when you die
it’s not a enough

*not sure of the line…
