As a follow-up to my last post re: brain chemicals. I’m switching from Celexa, which I’ve been on for many years now to Cymbalta. I’ve been feeling a general decline in energy and optimism for a while and Ian’s post a few weeks ago really made me think about it and decide to make a change. My reaction to simple life challenges should not be to say “fuck you” and give up.
So we’ll see – this weekend I’m winding down my Celexa and will be kicking off next week with the Cymbalta. Here’s hoping I get to avoid finding out what brain zaps feel like. Brains are lame.

I take St. John’s Wort for my “mental wellness.” Many people believe it’s just as effective as prescription antidepressants … and there’s no brain zaps.

Didn’t I say in the last post that Celexa was the devil? Good luck, Brad!

Just skip the prescription drama and stick to the ganja… all the benefits and none of the drawbacks… well, except the goddamn munchies, lol!!!

Oh, I used Cymbalta. It gave something akin to prolonged Whisky-dick. Hopefully it only happens to a select few and you’re not one of them. lol. Overshare finished.

Have you seen Requiem for a dream? It’s probably best to wean yourself off the drugs, legal or otherwise and change your outlook a bit. I’m only saying so because I like your music I don’t know you from Adam.

Different solutions for different folks. Here’s hoping this is the one for you. Obviously tons of people think you’re awesome and enjoy your work, so, just sending good vibes your way bud. :)

You might want to do some research into b12. Low b12 can cause similar symptoms. A simple blood test can determine if this is a factor for you.

I switched from Paxil to Prozac earlier this year. Paxil was bad because if I missed one dose I had problems. Prozac doesn’t have that problem on me. Discontinuation sucks though. Had a fit getting off Paxil. Bad times. Good luck man!

When I could afford my meds I was taking Provigil, it’s the only thing I’ve ever taken that made me feel “normal”. And it’s the only thing I’ve ever taken that worked the first day I started taking it. It’s as if I was walking through a fog for my entire life and then it just cleared one day, and I wanted to do things that I couldn’t be bothered to do, like take care of myself, and my apartment, clean my shit up, be productive, and it didn’t limit my creativity or dull my mind.
Provigil.

cymbalta is the only stuff i’ve tried that gets rid of “the black dog”. no side effects, but i’ve built up a tolerance(?) for it and had to up the dose a little over these 3.5 years.
like pseudosu said, tons of people think you’re awesome and enjoy your work. :) i’ma try to send you a couple of reaper remixes soon.
