Here’s a demo for track #2 off Guess Who’s a Mess:

In Your Face (demo)

Usual disclaimers: mix was quick and dirty, I have no talent, etc.

Man, I’ve been a fan of you for over a year now – This track just confirms my love for your art!

Never stop doing what you’re obviously fantastic at!

By the way, have you thought about selling vinyl? I’d sure be interested :-)

I think Michael’s onto something. Guess Who’s a Mess would be fantastic to listen to on vinyl, I think.

We were just talking about vinyl in the forums actually:

If there’s enough interest I’d happily press some up, but so far we’re up to like… five people.

Also thanks for the positive feedback on the song.

I guess it must be overwhelming but elating to have so many fans clambering for you to write new songs.of course it’s great and the lyrics are too good.(o scratch that, never too good) “If I had what you hate ,I could get you to break-No I am not in your face I’m just gettin wise.’pretty insightful,my fine fellow. i thought you were singing
“I’m just ghetto-wise”at first, and that would work too. the music’s a level progression and you are doing all the melody/changes with your voice .Hells to the yeah! as the kids say.
am I gettin this right? I’ll listen to it again.Julie

i just read your vinyl blog and somebody else wrote “as the kids say” maybe he’s just older like me or is that a new expression or something? Hmm

or maybe it’s just synchronicity-that’s been going on with me all week

Like the song overall, I feel like the muted cymbal noise that plays throughout is overpowering in certain parts of the song. Lyrics are great, beat is great otherwise, another great effort! The drums @2:40 is perfect.

I love it, although I agree with Matt, some of it’s a bit overpowering. Still a great song and I’m always glad to find another song to add to the collection :3 Seriously, “Brad Sucks” just feels like a timeless classic to me.

No, Brad, too much vulgarity! Other than that, it would be spun daily in my car. I bought both of your CDs…LOVE THEM. (Oh, I can’t wait for the replies to this post) ;)

julie skye on In Your Face (demo)

I was barely legal
Looking for something evil to say
And people to be antagonized
And you said to me
It’s not a good strategy
You should grow up
Try to act like you’re civilized

I explained that I just valued sincerity
You should go fuck yourself
And then try to die
You were sick of it
And called me an idiot
And left town
And said are you satisfied

If I had what you hate
I could get you to break
No, I’m not in your face
I’m just getting by…x2

(Combeated…which isn’t actually a word*)(Can’t beat him (best bet*)) (Con beat him)
But would not be defeated
By any man who couldn’t see I was always right
All I said was “I don’t mean to offend
But you’re the dumbest motherfucker I’ve seen tonight.”

And tho you know you want to know everything I know
-It’s the way I roll, (come on, step out)
And if I think of ever calling you out
Am I ready for such a fight?

If I had what you hate
I could get you to break
No, I’m not in your face,
I’m just getting by…x2

****words in parentheses I’m not quite sure of…
*personal reflections

Hey julie skye, thanks for the help!
I’m not a native English speaker, but I love brads’ lyrics. This song was just a little fast to keep up, so was looking for the lyrics everywhere.
But they were no-where to be found, since this is a demo.
A great one I might add!

Thanks again!
