My new album Out of It is (FINALLY) out! Please listen to it! Please spread it around! Please like it! (And perhaps please purchase it!):
It’s got ten songs, you can pay what you want, it’s available in CD, MP3 & FLAC. There’s no stupid DRM and it’s Creative Commons licensed. CD purchases get instant downloads and the full audio multi-track source will be available in the next day.
Some thoughts:
A lot’s changed since I started putting music on the Internet way back in 2001. Artist-endorsed free downloads were shocking. Flexible pricing was still an untested novelty. It was rare to find source files from artists and sharing music wasn’t encouraged by new artists.
Recently I was asked if I’d do anything different this time around. Would I still give the music away for free? Would I still give away my source files? Would I still be easygoing about copyright? Surely I could pull back now and try to cash in.
And I honestly couldn’t imagine why I’d do things different. The only reason I, a dude who made an album by himself in a country basement, has had any sort of success is because people took it upon themselves to share my music with their friends. They remixed it, they used it in their videos, they played it on their podcasts, they included it in software and games and it took on a life of its own.
To sabotage that would be a huge, retarded mistake. Instead I’ll be grateful if Out of It worms around the world in even close to the same freaky way I Don’t Know What I’m Doing did and continues to.
Anyway, this is a long way of saying I love you Internets. Thanks for all your support and I hope you like Out of It. I’m going to bed, good night!

Woah Brad, congratulations, I love the album! The songwriting, production, mixing, its all just hot! Totally loving bad sign at the mo, my fave track, fantastic!
If I had to be a downer (puts on highly critical hat), i’d say that I prefer the demo version of certain death. Mainly because it seems to be mixed a bit lower and its not so top end peaky, I also like the chorus on the demo version of dropping out of school, its a bit rawer.
Overall though, AWESOME :)

I wanted to make it to Ottawa for the launch but was still driving through southern New Brunswick from P.E.I. Friday. Only got back Sunday at 5am!
I was holding off on buying the first album too so that I could get them both there instead… now you’ll just have to deal with shipping both cds to me!
I’m also looking forward to writing more geek culture lyrics for your source files. You’ve inspired me to walk down the same road with my writing, video and webcomic content. Thanks a bunch for helping me see the light and I wish you and your projects a lot of luck so that we can eventually see a third album in the near future, yes?

OMG bro! The new albumm, the 1st albumn, all th re-mixes kick ass! I first discovered brads stuff on the world of warcraft forums of music to listen to while on a toon playing some WOW. I only used to listen to brad while I was healing on a raid or in a dungeon for hours on end. Now brad has invaded a the workspace and several other co-workers have come down with this need to hear his music. The new albumn has reached a plateau of greatness. Can’t wait for others re-mixes of the 2nd albumn. Thanks brad and please don’t quit on us now.

Excellent work! The songs are great. I’m always listening to “I Don’t Know What I’m Doing” in the car–the new album will be right there along with it. I can definitely hear a progression in the quality of the production as well, maybe you know what you’re doing after all ;-)

good luck brad! i’m pulling for you. you know, it’s too bad you couldn’t have worked something out with DH and snuck the dude and catastrophe track on there as a “secret track” at the end. that would have been cool.

Wow.
I am blown away. This is really awesome.
I must say though, it’s funny that is two songs that have the same title as two Seether songs.
Not accusing anything. Was just a coincidence.
