Getting ready for the show tonight, regular nerves, tequila shots, etc. Tonight will be the first show I’ve done as a three-piece, where I’m the only guitarist. My new bassist Matthew is unavailable so the previous bassist Richard is filling in. Our one rehearsal went really well so I’m feeling good about it.

I miss Rob, but so far it’s been pretty fun to be the only guitarist. I mean I can’t tell if it sounds good or anything but it’s kinda cool when all the guitar noise that’s being made is yours. Unless of course you’re totally fucking up and then it’s lame as hell.

The show tonight is being recorded though I’m not sure if it’s a soundboard recording or what.

My Eventful page is going okay but the numbers are pretty thin and spread out all over the universe. Regardless I’ve been dutifully checking out airfare. Is it worth $600 to rock 5 people in Seattle? Maybe if the tickets are $120 each. They should have an Eventful exclusively for millionaires. How many millionaires would like to see a Brad Sucks show in Seattle? If it’s one, here I come!

Seattle? It looks like Louisville KY is kicking our butts.

I prefer playing in trios. There’s so much more space in the music, everybody gets to do their thing without trampling on the other dudes’ parts.

Good luck at the show.

Well, fears were a waste of time. The show ROCKED, Brad! I’m with Des…3 piece bands are much, much fun for all the reasons already mentioned. Being able to hear yourself and everyone else clearly is a massive plus. Don’t get me wrong, two guitars chunking the same heavy can be really awesome too as well…but you pulled it off sounding tight and looking fine.

I totally wanted to jump onstage with you guys last night, it was difficult to be an audience member, but you didn’t need me…it carried really well, and the lack of one extra guitar amp making noise seemed to be a good thing for the overall sound. Nice job! Looking forward to the next show.

re: Eventful,

I’d really like to see you in San Diego. Has anyone in the history of rock ever put up a promotional poster with the intent of getting people to go to Eventful (or equivalent) and demand a musician? Is that idea too stupid to live?

That’s a really neat idea, failrate. Like pre-emptive gig posters or something. Hmmm…

Well, it’s really just Eventful… IRL… seriously, though, if you had promotional posters as downloads, I think I would probably print some out and place them up around town. If you don’t, then I guess someone will come along and make an awesome one.
