I got some great feedback for my Bad Sign mix (that I’m working on implementing) so I’ve posted a mix of Certain Death as well.

It can be a little confusing for me deciding what’s a technical decision and what’s an artistic decision, but it’s great to get some feedback from fresh ears.

JYMusic on Certain Death mix

First of all, great song!..one of your best.

When I activated the subwoofer, the bass line seemed VERY boomy on this song compared to the demo. This seems to be happening in the range roughly 120z down to maybe 50 or 60 hz. With subwoofer deactivated I didn’t notice the boom.

I thought the sound effect at very beginning was too loud compared to demo. I am not sure about those extra 30 seconds of music at the end of new mix…maybe the length of the demo was more “radio friendly” if that matters.

Maybe add de-essor (or tweak settings if one is already in use) to *slightly* reduce sibilance here and there.

BTW, I just checked out Bad Sign mix again but this time with the subwoofer active. After the intro, Bad Sign bass line seemed muddy and indestinct with a pretty big thump that sounds like it’s in the kick drum.
