I’ve been trying to think of something thoughtful to say about Steve Jobs’ anti-DRM essay.
There’s a good analysis at Daring Fireball.
I think it’s cool and all but I don’t get why Apple can’t offer DRM-free downloads for those labels (or artists) that want them. That’d give people who reject DRM a competitive advantage and put the squeeze on the majors.

Holy ****. Few may listen, but to hear Steve Jobs talk about that is hope for the computing industry. And then, I guess it will happen eventually. Sweet!
I’m not connected with it, but should promote OurTunes. OurTunes is the killer app for school networks. It was made incompatible a few months ago with new iTunes, though it doesn’t actually unlock DRM but just shares songs. Can donate for new version here; http://saveourtunes.com/.

I think that if you are paying for the music, you should own the rights to it.
