The other day I tried to watch Jonathan Coulton’s Second Life performance. It was way too much for my computer to handle and it nearly exploded. Anyway I decided to ignore being totally broke and go upgrade my computer, hooray.

Athlon64 X2 4200+, fancy new motherboard, gig of ram and a brand new SATA drive. Seems like everything should be instant now but it’s still not quite. There’s significantly less churning going on though and the onboard 3D graphics are better than my previous card.

Back to reinstalling all my crud…

You’ll love yourself for going Dual-Core the moment you start recording.

Maybe you need to wait a day or two for your computer to fully recognize it.

Also, how exactly do you play live on Second Life?

is it wearing a disguise? did it gain a lot of weight? has it grown a beard or something?

Hey brad, sucking is my thing… I dunno if you can use Second Life.

Maybe you should reconsider the name of your band. I don’t want to have to sue you for stealing my thing before I ever even thought of it.. It’s been done before!

The choppiness of Second Life is largely due to it constantly streaming the environment off the net, the only thing you can do to speed things up is have a faster harddrive pretty much.
