This morning I went through all the demos I’ve recorded over the past while. Some I’ve finished enough to post on the site here and some are still too embarrassingly sketchy. To my surprise I found I’ve got 12 tracks I’m relatively happy with and I think it’s time to quit writing for a while and start finishing these suckers off and call it an album.

Right now I’m unsure about the amount of perfectionism to lay down on these. Do I re-record everything Should I record them at a studio with expensive gear? I’m thinking I may need some outside ears to give me some perspective. The heart says yes, the budget says no.

And I know that for me there’s a dangerously thin line between absolute perfectionism and total laziness. Both result in not finishing anything. It’s in the middle where the magic happens.

Yes! These are exciting times.

I say: Yes, re-record everything. No, don’t pay for studio time. Though some tactical home studio upgrades couldn’t hurt.

Care to tell us what 12 tracks you chose? :)

Screw it man, they sound good enough as it is. Theres no point recording at the studio when your fans will get it one way or another.

yeh, you should re-record stuff but not fork out for a studio… i mean your stuff sounds pretty professional already…and its all about home recording isn’t it!

Maybe not studio time, but if you want another set of ears, perhaps some professional mastering?

Once the album’s out, you should release both your albums as a double CD set. That way, I can wait and buy both at once.

I’d only go with the studio if they could make the tracks sound as professional as this dude’s music:

Actually, you’re already gotten nice, full, professional-sounding quality on tracks like “Certain Death” with your existing setup.
