A few things about Amazon. First of all: for some reason for the past few months my cover art image is blank. Check it out. It was there before, now it’s gone. Dunno, man. Trying to fix that.
Also am I hallucinating or is someone selling my album for $39.99 here? What in the hell.
Update: The image is back. I’m going to start whining about every little thing that bothers me on here, it seems to get results.

Yeah, two things I noticed in the past few weeks:
1) Amazon started direct-shipping nearly every CD offered by CD Baby. Not sure if this is a result of the Super D deal or some other unannounced CD Baby/Amazon deal, but I’m not complaining (except that Amazon’s price is WAY over what I’d offer).
2) “harveyauctions” started selling copies of CD Baby artists via Amazon for $39.99. I have no idea why.
These two things appeared almost simultaenously, so I suspect it’s not a coincidence.

Weird, so do I even need to be in the Amazon Advantage program now then? I mean I’d be happy not to pay the $30 a year or whatever.
That’s also bizarre about harveyauctions. He’s got decent eBay feedback:

I hope those aren’t all $40 records he’s selling. Messed up.

Actually, that feedback isn’t so good. There’s a whole load of people complaining about him, and 61 people with negative feedback overall. A good ten percent of people he deals with seem to be unsatisfied, in the last 12 months at least.

PassAlong is one of the digital distributors that CDBaby will send your tracks to if you allow digital distribution. Now they do have mine there…

Kinda silly that they don’t get much of the actual track title on there.

I don’t really see why Amazon is giving your CD the explicit content warning. Maybe I’m just used to stronger language. The only time I hear you actually swear is in Borderline.

When I submitted my CD they asked if it had any swears on it at all. So I was honest and said yes. I didn’t realize they were going to be like “OMFG X-RATED”
I think I drop an f-bomb and an s-bomb on the album. If I swear at all on the next one I’m going to go all out just to justify getting warnings put on it.

Yeah, I was just looking at your lyrics, and you do “drop an s-bomb” on Dirtbag, I just wasn’t paying attention.
*Start rant*
We have Americana by the Offspring, and they swear, probably about 15 times on that album, and guess what? There’s no Parental Advisory warning on it. I don’t know how they determine whether it’s PA, or not, because if you look at CD’s that aren’t big label, or when the Parental Advisory thing just came out, It’s nothing like nowadays’ standards. Gorillaz’s first album got a PA warning, because of Del Tha Funkee Homosapien. I love him and his music, and he’s the only one who swears on the album. And then there’s Green Day’s Dookie, which has no PA warning. Why? Because Longview totally isn’t full of swear words, Having a Blast obviously isn’t about blowing yourself up in a crowded area, and F.O.D. TOTALLY doesn’t stand for “Fuck Off and Die.”
*End rant*

Hi!
I was wondering the same thing… and sent a friendly email to HarveyAuctions and never did get a response. I even said “more power to you” in regard to selling my CD for the same price $39.95 or so. Also another one “PrincessMedia” had it for sale at $40.99 and then even raised it to $44.95!!! I don’t know why either. I sent a friendly email and they don’t answer either. I’m not angry as it is a free world but how do they think my CD’s are worth that much?? I’m curious as to what their reasoning is and from where are they getting my CD’s bran new. Someone posted that CD Baby made some deal with them… well my CD’s, I have two albums now, are both at CDBaby and haven’t sold well there. I wonder if they are picking up on poorly selling albums from a “collectibles” standpoint or something? Does anyone else have an idea why this phenomenon is happenin? Sincerely, Mike
