Freetar Hero – a fella from my hometown is working on a free version of Guitar Hero that you can use any music with. I still need to try that game.

Not terribly impressed with the presentation. I mean, it’s a simplified piano-roll editor. It wasn’t even clear if it was possible to set the tempo so that that blue bars actually correspond to beats, which they never did in the demo. And what about isolating the guitar track so it doesn’t play when you miss notes?

If you have a problem with the look of it then you should try Frets on Fire. It also lets you have the ability to use just the guitar track for the notes to play.
