A few people have asked me about how World of Warcraft is going. Well, I quit playing it. I got about three or four weeks of nicely addicted fun out of it where I needed to play it every chance I possibly could, but then it wore me out and I never logged back in. I didn’t make a decision about it, there was no particular angry quitting moment. I just got tired. Here’s my boring story:
Let me tell you something about World of Warcraft: there’s too much running. Seriously, there should be an in-game counter of the sheer number of hours you put in jogging from one destination to another like a chump, it would be startling. I start a quest and it’s all “hey, run down the coast for 30 minutes” and then I get there and someone gives me a quest saying “hey, run on back up to where you started”. Even sitting on my ass at my desk it made me tired.
I also understand that most of the fun of the game comes from having a good group of people to play with, but I couldn’t keep up with the majority of players I met. They were willing to put many, many hours a day into the game whereas I had about two maximum, so it was a little hard to keep in sync.
So I made it up to around level 26, but my isolation combined with my hatred for retardedly jogging around a virtual world has bored and annoyed me out of it. There were certainly a lot of neat things in there and fun was definitely had, but as I ran around I felt the game designers were purposefully rubbing my face in the fact that I was wasting my life and money by playing this game. At least try to conceal that from me, guys. It’s really all I ask from a video game.

yeah, that’s how i felt, too! and i only made it about forty-five minutes. i don’t think i killed anything bigger than some wild pigs.

Wow, you people are dumb, you had to really suck to only get to lvl 26 after 2-3 weeks of playing whenever you could, not only that you may have to do running around, but theres usully 3 or more quests you can do in one spot so you didnt waste 5 min(it never takes 30 mins to run somewhere for one little quest, flight paths are provided for that)running for 1 quest.

Insulting people in a you suck fashion rocks! do it again! Man i must suck cause i never wasted any of my time on a chat room game of pointing and clicking with pretty graphics, man i wish i was smart and had wasted hours doing that as opposed to accomplishing storys and meeting real people. but oh well i guess i suck. Conviently like brad and his great music!

Game is so so till you level to 60. After that is only for hard core players who spend 20hours per day online playing, since to kill “boss” that drop good (epic) items is really pain in the butt and requires lots of lots of time spent there.
PvP is one of the worst that i have ever meet at all games, so if you are up for pvp gaming forget WoW.
Game is popular due of huge areas and big number of quests, what after passing them and face end game playing, you will find stuck into doing same things over and over again day by day just to get some gear item from drop.

I can see what everyone means. And I do get sick of playing from time to time.. but its allways fun to come back in after being gone for awhile.. I have a 60 that I play all the time. I really don’t understand why everyone says there is nothing to do when you get to 60 though The game just starts with all the new content and stuff. And really its hard to see but after you are more experienced.. getting around isn’t very hard and takes alot less time. If you get sick of it or it stops being fun, you really shouldn’t play it. and above all don’t make fun of people that didn’t get sick of it.

Ok yeah the pvp does suck, it way to imbalanced right now.
The end game raid bosses, thought arent that hard if you arnet playing with a bunch of 12 year olds.
My guild has only been in Molten Core for about 2 and a half months and are at the end boss.
Mind you we arent playing 20 hours a day either, we only run MC twice, 2 times, a week for 4 hrs max.

most classes have a speed increase move at 20, and at 40 anyone can get a mount, so running around is a shitty excuse to not play the game

Wow first of all is for 12 year old boys.
second: why waist your time it’s not even that fun.
third: it destroys your rep. with normal people.
forth: you’re a nerd.(I would know i’ve played and I’m friends with many who still play)
Fith: Playing wow for even 20 hours a week could be much better spent with “RL” people or doing something to improve your self.
Sixth: not saying it’s bad but you suck if you like WoW.

Wow ok first off you must not know what rateing systems mean. the game is rated TEEN that means 13 and up.
And you know what, Im not even going to argue with a bunch of people who feel they need to belittle everyone who plays a game and enjoy it.
I started saying that the reason he stopped playing was dumb (which it was) thats fine, but everyone else has to insult everyone who plays the game calling us nerds, or thinking we dont have a personal life.
Well guess what, there are many housewives that play, and they get more social interaction with real people then if they didnt play.
Get your head out of your ass and get off your soapbox, and maybe you would see this and maybe even enjoy the game.

I played WoW almost a whole year, from when it was launched in February 2005 to the end of January 2006. I had, with my main, about 65 days /played. I quit it when it starts to become more a costriction than a fun. Grind honor in PvP is literally appalling. I reached exalted with AB faction and went so sick of it that never entered an AB game again after that. The end game instances are no fun, imho. I really loved Stratholme, Scholomance, Dire Maul, but a point u get bored of play instances. I tried to do different things to break the routine, like raising all available secondary skills, get recipes, make money, complete quests.Finally I was at a point that I only had to play to grind honor (in a terribly boring way, in BGs) or run End Game instances to have sets (in an equally static boring way). I think that WoW is the best MMORPG actually available (waiting for Darkfall and Vanguard). But seriously Blizzard got to improve, at least in PvP servers, the outdoor PvP (wich I remember was so much fun at low lvl, raiding X-road or Astranaar whole night). The Battlegrounds destroyed this outdoor raiding. And I was bored of those AB,WSG,AV (same stuck tactic for everyone) just at friendly rep. Increasing the cap to 70 and inserting a new continet will only postdate the problem. They absolutely got to change policy, and make PvP, RP, RPVP or whatever server CRITICALLY different instead of allineate them all as they did the last 4-5 months. Cheer ;)

When it comes to online games, i sometimes get annoyed at the fact that kids around 12-15 feel up about themselves and that they dont take kindly to noobs. Im 17 and i played the trial for WOW, frankly it was okay at first, however, kids who hug and kiss themselves because they are so superior come up to me and bag me out. What the hell is their problem? Its as if they dedicate their entire life, just so they can play a MMORPG, what are they born to play? Seriously because its completely sad and it will seriously affect their social life. I’m not saying games like WOW is bad, but its best if kids spend more time from the computer. that way they might not take things so harsly, if not, than thay end up as a 19 year old loser who lives in his mother’s basement, how cliche, especially guys on Day of Defeat, yeeeeesh! Seriously, Its better than playing with a couple of loners and emos, damn 12 year old punks!

I used to play WoW. My husband got me into it about a year ago. Id play for my 60 days then take a 2-3 month break before I bought another card. World of Warcraft is a fun game. I stopped playing recently because my account was hacked for the second time and even though I explained in detail what had happened to the Gm’s, Blizzard emailed me saying they would not give me all the items and gold back because they couldnt verify that i had actually lost them. That made me mad. I emailed the team that investigates the hackings and they told me the same thing again. Sometimes I still do want to play, but I always remind myself what I had lost and the fact that it will more than likely happen again and Blizzards support team absolutely sucks. Im trying to decide what I want to use my extra $30 on.
WoW is a great game, and I do agree that some people get way to into it. But it is just a game after all.

I’ve been playing for a while. It’s deathly dull, boring as hell, even with the Burning Crusade update. Why did I play for so long? Because I thought it would get good. It never gets good, it’s just one long grind.
What’s so heroic about clicking icons in a certain order and picking up 6/6 Spiders Legs and 5/5 Boar Chunks? Anybody who sticks with that game more than 6 months has VLow IQ.

Ok, it’s finally over…WOW and I are calling it quits. Been a long 2 years and am bored, bored, bored. I’ve played the best of the best MMORPG’s and as we all know, nothing lasts forever. Blizzard took a very long time to come out with a so-so expansion to string us along for a few more months. So I am retiring my 70 Druid and will spare myself being bored to death of the same scenery, mobs, and annoying chat on the RP server

For those bored with WoW but still wanting to play a similiar game, try Guild Wars. The quests are fun, and actually run along a storyline with cutscenes and an adaquately engaging plot. Not to mention, the pvp is absolutely amazing. Unlike other games of its ilk, it is more strategy oriented than level oriented. You dont need to spend all that much time playing to have fun with it as there are only 20 levels and how well you do is more a reflection of proper use of skills and tactics than of griding up levels. The best thing about Guild Wars? No monthly fee. Buy the game, install it, have fun, ’nuff said.

I am in the second update, and just can’t play. Is there any justification for a 600MB + 500MB update. This isn’t an update, it’s a Partial replacement of the existing file structure. This means… bad work. Hope to see the game, some day.

Man….Started loading the stupid trial at around 4PM. It’s 1033pm now and it is still going. OMG this is the SLOWEST STUPIDEST way to have somebody try your game. I paid $2 for the stupid trial disk too. GEEZ They should give you coupons for beer or something so you will have something to do while you are waiting for the blasted thing.

•an intelligent but single-minded expert in a particular technical field or profession…..now from that definition i would quite like to be a nerd although i do not fall into that class….i have a job that required me to spend 12 hour days working my ass off months on end in remote bushlands around australia that have no such thing as phone reception and mabey a weekend to myself a month now when i do get said down time away from work i could a. go out and blow all the money that i have made doing this on drinks b.sit at home watch tv and get fat or c. play a game that costs me almost nothing…..hmm well unless you are brain dead the answer is pritty clear is it not? so now i have my little rant mabey you ‘nerd’ haters can go and do something constructive with your life and i dont know jump of a bridge?
