…it’s just a game. Most of you are talking about spending your life on it, and quiting it as if it were smoking. I spend an hour or so every day playing, and you know why? Because it’s fun, and I have some nice friends on there. You know what, moaning won’t change the fact that so many people play WoW, if you really hate it that much why not email Blizzard. Honestly, anyone you talks about quitting WoW never had any life in the first place…it’s just a game but some many of you are making it out to be life changing.

wow is a fun game and most of you are making way to bigger deal over it. yeah, if you play it 5 hours a day and never speak to any of your friends your gonna get addicted to it but it’s easy to play it normally and have fun. anyone who does something stupid like quit there job is an idiot and shouldnt be allowed another job. also its strange when adults get addicted because its mainly a game for kids and teenagers :/

I wife became addicted to WOW. She hid the game playing for about 1 year until I found out. I thought my problem with this would be over come until I found out she was having an affair with one of the gamers. This game destroys people’s lives. She is now seeking a divorve.I know first hand what damage this game can cause. It is very sad.

I think it’s sad how closely tied two separate lives can become. I am speaking of course of Real life and Wow life. Even by the end of a trial version of the popular game, the barriers between real life and MMORPG life become vague. Almost to the point to where the line is blurred and then players resort to flexing their in game accomplishments to perhaps redeem themselves for spending so much time in a pretend world.
…It was fun, for a while, though.

Look I tihnk Wow is actually a pretty good game, although the grinding gets boring after a while, but in fact I think that game does get very addictive. I know people who have not played it before…and are already hooked…

There are a lot of people saying ”I never played this game but I hear that it sucks”. That’s a huge bullshit. If you just tried the game you would the notice that the game rocks and not just that, but the game also have other positive aspects except having fun, for example people can sit at home while its a rainy day and communicate with other persons, go around the world, learn the language etc. I am playing WoW for years already and as you can see I speak english very well. And im from Yugoslavia

forced??
Nobody is forcing you to do anything.
That game is evil, will drain you of your social skills.
When you first start playing you might get frustrated as your friends keep calling you wanting you to hang out and do stuff and cut into your WOW time. But don’t worry, just blow them off long enough eventually they’ll catch on that all you care about is xp and honor and epixx and they’ll stop calling you.

Ahahaha! Wow does suck.
I have never known someone who is just a ‘casual player, being able to stop whenever they want.
Not playing wow is great. Sadly, I did play it for a while, and then once I figured out that yes, Blizzard doesn’t give a shit and is greedy, people are the biggest jerks and narcissists in wow, and that I am a girl- This is the best time to be going out and finding all the hot guys because all the not-hot ones are stuck in front of their monitors. :P

I disagree with what some people say (which I believe is the same with anybody reading these comments). WOW doesn’t suck if you are not a major gamer. I am naturally a casual gamer and found WOW to be easy, not frustrating, and an overall enjoyable game. Some people like challenges or more complicated gameplay, that’s fine (eve comes to mind as a really good one). Others, like me, just want to have basic fun. WOW held my interest for a long time and I am glad for it.
But, when I quit, I did notice things getting better. My marks increased, I was a happier person, and I felt good and “Fresh”. This is because WOW does become an addiction similar to gambling. Because the game is not complicated, one can feel the rush and excitement in gaining levels, skills, and items without feeling the down side to it (hard work and frustration). So it is easy to get sucked into it. One cannot always stop addictions by willpower and may require help. Please don’t look down at those that get addicted.
And lastly, please stop whining about how WOW has ruined your marriage or friendship or whatever. If something went wrong, the game is not at fault. You and your partner/friend are at fault. Why? He/she couldn’t realize that they were too far in and you didn’t stop them before it happened. Either way, a game is a game and it is not the game (an object)’s fault that your relationship is fucked up. And maybe your husband went to someone he met at a guild, is that any different than doing the same with someone he met at work? Basically, it just means that your relationship wasn’t strong to begin with.
Anyway, everyone should have fun if they want to have fun as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone.

WoW doesnt suck many people would say, but the way I see it…
– Does’nt a game sucking away your life suck?
– Does’nt something making you lose your job suck?
– Does’nt something making you lose your friends for virtual ones suck? ( I mean come on… ”VIRTUAL FRIENDS” go get some tamagochi or something if you feel virtually lonely :P)
– Does’nt a game you have to pay a 15$ monthly fee suck?
– Does’nt a game that can cause carpal tunnel syndrome suck?
– Does’nt a game making you lose your girl/boy friend suck?
– Does’nt something making you gain pounds, making you a big fat ass suck?
– Does’nt something brainwashing you suck?
And you know what’s worst… when you play that game in fact while you live in the ”REAL” world, all you can talk about is that WoW bullshitt. But what’s good in that is the fact that many weak people abadon everything they own for that stupid game leaving those things to smarter people. I don’t mind, I don’t play that crapy game and never played it. I just know a couple of people who do play it and I just realize how lame they are.
GO ON… PLAY WoW… Live on Blizzard :P

The game is a timesink.
In order to accomplish anything worthwhile (whatever that means) in WoW, you need to invest untold hours performing repetitive and monotonous actions…in order to achieve a goal that is in many cases randomly rewarded.
My only regret in quitting is that I know that the friends I played with are still at it…grinding away day after day (and well into the morning. They can always call in sick for work) for nothing but some “epic loot”.
I wish I could make them snap to and realize how much of their time is being wasted. They are like lab rats paying 15 bucks a month to walk through a maze and get a piece of cheese. Virtual cheese. Made with purple pixels.

If only they made some kind of game where it was possible to experience online gaming without going through months of work, toil, social crippling and fees to find that theres always someone further than you……
(someone whispers in ear)….
Consoles?
(further whispering)
Just for spare time?
(etc)
Hah, idiot.
Hey guys, this idiot thinks that we can get enjoyment out of games without having to labor monotonously for months…. Pfft.
(On a sane note, I did play Guild Wars for some time (couple months). I did get bored after a bit, but a good feature is the low level cap, meaning that the main point of the game is to advance in the story and perfect your strategy. If you fail a boss, you can’t just go grind for a few days then return… You need to change your skills, your strategy, and think about it. Not become a zombie.)
And remember, folks… Driving your car into oncoming traffic is COUNTER-PRODUCTIVE!

WoW use to rule, but since I was wasting $30 every 2 months, I decided it’s not worth it and lost interest aftering turning level 40.
