I went out amp shopping today as my amp is a tiny hilarious thing and some Brad Sucks live stuff is fast approaching. I tried out a bunch and I think I’m basically sold on this sucker:

Peavey Delta Blues 210

It’s the Peavey Delta Blues 210. I’m an amp novice so I wasn’t sure what I was listening for, but it impressed me when I tried it, it sounded so much better than any amp sim garbage I’ve been using. Then I came back and looked it up on Harmony Central and it has a 9.4 overall review. So I uh… want it.

That external speaker jack’ll come in handy if and when you decide to beefen up your rig. (I.E. get a cabinet to go with it) My second amp was a Marshall 2×12 combo, but it wasn’t loud enough; luckily, I realized it had a speaker-out. So now I have a 4×12 cab in addition to the combo. I like to call it a 3/4 stack.

Hey Brad,
Just found your site. Really cool. I’m a recording musician too and I have the Peavey Delta Blues, but with the single 15″ speaker. This amp has a problem with tube rattles, but I fixed that by upgrading the tubes. This thing is a monster. I use the clean channel most of the time and use overdrive and distortion pedals (mostly Fulltone) to get different grind and lead sounds. I’ve been very happy with this amp. It’s a great deal for the money. One more thing, this amp is LOUD! If you need something that saturates naturally at lower / home studio recording volume, you should consider a smaller amp. Feel free to email me if you want to talk amps. I’m a gear hound.
Cheers.
