Does anyone know of any good/popular Bittorrent trackers for legit (aka legal) material?
I’m thinking about putting together an EP for one or more of my songs that I’ve released the source to. It would include the original song, a collection of the best remixes and possibly the source for the track as well.
I don’t really want to deal with the hassle of trying to sell such a thing, but I’m thinking a big free torrent would get the job done nicely.
Please drop me a line if you know of any trackers I could use to distribute this thing.

If you’re still thinking about doing this- you could have it be hosted permanently in the Open Source Audio collection of the Internet Archive (an online public library),
http://www.archive.org/audio/collection.php?collection=opensource_audio
It’s not bt (it’s regular web and/or ftp based) but OSA could be a good fit for what you describe. Meanwhile bt.etree.org is oriented toward live performances. Good luck with the project!

See this is what you do ppl!!! You go get a bit-torrent client like ABC or Bit Tornado (These programs are for downloading the files that you want), and then you go to a public or private tracker and download the torrent. After you download the torrent you drag and drop the torrent into the client (if it support that) or open the torrent file and select the destination for the files to be saved( i.e a particular folder on the Desktop or USB drive)See ppl, the actual torrent does not contain the files you are downloading, it only contains information about the files you are downloading. The actual torrent contains the url of the tracker and information about where the file is on the Internet( i.e the IP address of the person who has the files that you want).
Hopefully this helped without getting to technical on dat azz!!
Later ppls

Well, there is Torrent Trader, which is a torrent tracker… a site running Torrent Trader is metal-torrents.com
I’m thinking about starting my own tracker too… but there should be a major site hosting open source torrents.

To those who asked,
You can host your own tracker using Azureus.
You should probably have a static IP address first.
