The MP3Blogs Aggregator is an easy way to keep track of a ton of MP3 blogs all in one place. MP3 blogs are pretty cool and are a bit easier to tune into than a radio show for people who are lazy and impatient, like me. They’re also how I found out that Steve Burns (formerly the host of Blues Clues) has teamed up with some of the the guys behind the Flaming Lips. (The song Mighty Little Man kicks ass.)

I must disagree with your opinion re: mighty little man. The dude is mighty lucky that the FL dudes helped him out, because the song is all production and very little content. Plus his voice is thin and whiny.

Hey yeah, I’d love that. Doesn’t matter whose server the mp3s are on, whatever’s easiest for you. Thanks for the great MP3 blog!

Ken: That Mighty Little Man song totally has a catchy as hell chorus. I didn’t find the other songs I’ve heard off the album as catchy and they all had pretty boss production too.

In regards to Steve Burns:

We just figured out peyote
We just figured out peyote
We just figured out peyote
Because we’re very smart.

No disputing the superb production, but that’s kind of my point. What makes the chorus so catchy is the production, not the vocal melody. ‘Bad Attraction’, on the other hand, is catchy on both fronts. If you played “Mighty Little Man” on just a guitar or piano, I think a lot of the magic would evaporate.

I can’t imagine Bad Attraction being very good on just guitar or piano either.

I think industrial/electronic music taught me that production can’t make something catchy to me. It can make it “cool”, but it can’t make me hum a chorus to myself all day.
