Let me tell you about William Hung. We as Americans tend to worship our celebrities and pay them outrageous wages to perform because we say that their talent and skills are worth that much. Being a famous musician in 2004 has nothing to do with talent and all to do with luck. Its all about how you “act” in front of the camera. Its all about how TV makes you look. The youth of our nation eats it up and pays millions for a service that can be rendered for free. Celebrities thrive off the supidity of our nation. Do you really think Eminem’s talents and skills are worth $20 million an album? I can get drunk and freestlye a lot raunchier than he can and no one’s paying me. If he hadn’t met Dr.Dre, he’s still be making $5.00 an hour. In my opinion, teachers give a more important service to our society than artists do. So why do we pay artists 100X as much as teachers? Someone needs to step it up and show our country that musicians are not as important as they think they are. That they’re not really worth all the money we shell out to them. William Hung is the one to expose this. Whether he knows it or not, he sucks. And he’s proven that being famous does not necisarily corespond to talent. He’s exposed a glich in our system. There is no limit to how far I would like to see him go. I personally would like to see him win a Grammy. It would startle things up in the Entertainment business and revolutionize how musicians come to be. I know William Hung sucks and I don’t support him because I tihnk he’s good. I support him because I am sick of seeing the same Nely crap over and over. I am sick seeing gay ass MTV shows with mainstream beats in the backround. We need to go back to when music was about the music and not the artist. I hope that William Hung goes to #1 and wipes the shiteating grin off Christina Agulera’s face. I hope that a kind in a wheelchair comes out with a rap album and competes with Nely. Nely isn’t anything he says he is, so why not have a kid in a wheelchair prertend to be gangstar? Have someone with Downs Syndrome create a record in which pretend to be like 50 cent. We need William Hung to bring the Entertainment Industry back to equilibrium.

You people are sad and sick. William Hung has no talent, however, you are using his FOBBINESS (FOB – Fresh off the Boat) and making a mockery of him. Do you HONESTLY believe he has talent? Do you honestly think you are laughing with him and NOT at him?

Did you realize the cuz of William Hung, Asian Americans have been again considered to be the stereotypical Asian (bad hair, bad teeth, bad accent, no style/fashion).

I have a lot of Asian friends that find him funny and can shoot the shit with me about topics. There is no reason to make a racial issue out of William Hung. We don’t need a Chineese Al Sharpton.

After reading your entries, I went online to see this infamous video. I agree, it shows that “bling,” sex appeal and image sell records. But not always. I found this site thanks to NPR, and I’m back everyday. I have no idea what Brad looks like but I know his songs make me feel good. You’ve got talent, Brad. I NEVER go to music websites and this is the first time I post anything. Your songs have helped me unwind during my study breaks and I’ve sent links to my friends. As an outsider (Australian), its hard to realise that a place like the US exists. Ive had some communicado with a few yanks and individually you seem like a nice bunch and some have their heads screwed on the right way which makes me wonder why you have those in power that you do.. but..

This has gone far past a joke, and now we’ve just had a William Hung wannabe trying out for Australian Idol as well, only he was singing “Beat it.” He did the dancing and everything, and made the judges crack up, but I bet he will end up as popular as Hung. What is wrong with people? If I auditioned for American Idol, or Australian Idol even, I wouldn’t make it through, nor would I score a record deal, and I can’t sing for crap. What makes Hung so special that he can score a record deal for being crap? Look at all the thousands of audtions that didn’t make it through because they weren’t good enough. Not one of them ended up with a record deal, so why should Hung? As far as I’m concerned, it’s all bullshit.

William Hung uses his platform to make a small pile of $ for himself, but he does it with humility and grace. He is not in love with himself. It seems he looks at his situation realistically. And while he has his 5 minutes of fame, he sends a positive message- Be nice! For this alone, William Hung is respectable.

I’ll have you know I’m incredibly brilliant whereas music is concerned, but that is completely irrelevant to what I said, since I haven’t actually heard anything by the fellow. I thought it was just funny how how serious everyone took it, I mean if I sucked at something, but was offered fame and fortune to do it, you can bet your ass I’d be out there doing it and revelling in it.
I’m sorry, maybe i’m not being sensitive enough. Are you a struggling artist? I’m sure your day will come, I mean if some guy who supposedly has down syndrome can do it, you can too! Just believe in yourself.

damn I just came across this site and i would liek to say alex is right so are a bunch of you.I wouldnt care if eminem, nelly, and fat joe or whatever and lil’ this and lil’ that got shot in the face and died. They have no talent whatsoever, and what raelly pisses me off is that they think they are better than me? Im not saying im great(well i know i am!) j/k but these people are pompous ass holes. First of all what the hell is being so great about “ghetto”? any dumbass can go buy southpole jeans, sean john t shirts, some airforce 1s, and a vokal jersey than walk around a mostly white, upperclass town and pretend to be something they are not. You have to laugh at these people, how can u not? I enjoy it so much when the freshmen in the HIghschool walk in dressing ghetto and talkin like a bad ass and then they get thier asses kicked by the upper classmen who know to be ghetto in our town is just stupid. I have an open mind to music, although i prefer one style of music over another. These rappers would get this shit beaten out of them in somewhere such as harlem or some other iner city place, if it wernt for the fact that they were “famous”. Eminem is livin the life i can only dream of having, but i dont plan on becoming some rap artist anytime soon, so i willl actualy have to work for my money. I hope they all get aids or something like that, if that doesnt happen, which probably wont, Id atleast hope girls realize there is nothing cool about being ghetto, which in theory means black and poor, not that i have anything against black people, not at all. I love it when i see these people in their escalades and benzs with thier bass turned all the way up and thier “iced out” rims, becuase i know they cant afford the cars, they just lease them. I would have alot of respect for them if they could actualy afford thier cars and had a real job… but they dont. Is it wrong for people to follow their dreams even if they know that they will never be exceptional at it? Critics all around the world judge William Hung as a “fake who is just in it for the money.” Some may agree, and some may disagree but may the truth be told.

Williams’s famous audition for the song “She bangs” was a big hit, and the viewers loved him. But did they love him because of his terrible singing which made him a laughing stock? Or did the viewers love him because he was admirable, and a good role-model to younger viewers? Obviously William is in this for the money from the start. The money that he had invested from William’s journey was towards his schooling so he says, but where did all of the new expensive clothing come from?

When William was rejected from the show, he still wanted to pursue his dream as becoming an artist. But then again isn’t it kind of odd that William hung, as to be shown as a nice young man doesn’t seem to be offended by the crucial views about him? Elvis compared to Hung, can actually dance, sing, and has the feature that sold. But William Hung? He has nothing but vulgar teeth, and an UN muscular body.

This joke has gone on too long, and he planning on doing this for the rest of his life. He is obviously not going to last that long because people will eventually get bored of his “old act”. Are the majority of people laughing with him, or laughing at him? There can’t seriously be so many people who actually think he’s doing a good job. Are they all just pretending to like him so that they can exploit his ignorance?

In the end fame comes and then it moves on. He will probably appear on MTV on the one hit wonders in ten years.
