After a year or two of wanting to get some sort of rhythm input device, I just ordered one of these suckers:
It’s an MPD-16 and it’s very hip-hop. If all goes according to plan I may have it by the weekend.
I should also mention that if any of you musicians are in the market for a Yamaha DD55 (the drum thing I was thinking about buying before I decided on the MPD16), there are tons of them on eBay. They seem to retail for about $200-$220 US and most auctions are going for $100-$120. Just so you know.

The MPD16 is pretty awesome. Cant remember which show i worked that had one, but i remember playing with it through a 16 k sound system and getting some phat beats happening.
Until i was kicked off it and told to “stop fuc$ing around” by the tour manager.
Anyway, nice choice.

Im looking at your recording equipment, and its all pretty budget stuff, i mean on ebay and second hand sales you can pick all that up for nice prices.
It just shows you that a no matter what gear you buy, a huge amount of creativity will always shine through.
(thats a compliment by the way, im not slagging of you cheap guitars and second rate microphones….of which i have plenty)

What were you using before for your drums?
Are they all samples?
I use Redrum quite abit from Reason and then export it into cubase sx and put all the guitars and vocals over it from there.
