I wonder if there’s anything worse in life than recording vocals.

It seems hard to believe that there could be anything worse, but some people that I know insist that such things exist.

Boy I hope I never run into them.

I hear that with a rather large ear.

Agreed. I just went into the studio this past Saturday, and will again tomorrow to cut my solo record (voice and grand piano only) and it’s STRESSful. I split my sessions up (4 hours only, per day) and miraculously my voice held up decently. Cutting in iso, 90 feet from the piano (in the main studio room) was strange, to say the least. And the big old U87 in front of my face of course obstructed my ability to even catch a glimse of my accompanist. Weird. Drinking plenty of water and stopping when necessary to call for a punch-in really help. We were cutting straight to Pro Tools, which makes punch-ins/fixes soooo easy.
