About Brad Sucks

Hi there, it's me, Brad

Hi, I'm Brad. Brad Sucks is my band. I started writing, recording and giving my music away in 2000, along with all the stems and accappellas, letting anyone remix my tracks. I might have been the first to do that.

I've released three Brad Sucks records: I Don't Know What I'm Doing (2003), Out of It (2008) and Guess Who's a Mess (2012) along with several remix albums. My music's been used in TV shows, video games and played on commercial and campus radio. My most popular song is Making Me Nervous.

I've also been involved in the open source community. I made the default sounds for the popular instant messaging client Pidgin and have also released some open source packages for musicians like my Digital Download Store and Gimme Some Money.

Recently I've been working on songs and vocals for the cartoon Bee & PuppyCat and working on songs for my next album or whatever.

I'm active on Twitter and Facebook and occasionally on Instagram.

Most of this Wikipedia page is true, last I looked.

Join my mailing list if you want an email when I do new stuff (I send it out about twice a year.)

Things I've been asked

Where can I get your music?

You can buy my albums I Don't Know What I'm Doing, Out of It or Guess Who's a Mess directly from me for whatever price you like in the Brad Sucks store. They can also be found on popular digital downloading services such as iTunes, Amazon MP3 and Magnatune. As well as in CD form at stores like CD Baby and Amazon.

Why would I buy your music when you give it away for free?

Well I don't know, but people have been doing it and I hope they continue. Maybe they like a CD to hold in their hands, maybe they just want to support artists, maybe it's pity.

I put my music online because I want people to hear it. I'd obviously love to make a living making music, but if the worst-case scenario is becoming a well-heard artist that never gets paid, I can live with that.

Will you come here and play a show?

I don't know. I'm not sure how to tour yet. You can throw yourself on the map on the Live page and I'll let you know if I'm in your area.

Can I do something with your songs?

Yes! Do what you like with them. I've love to see or hear what you've done and post your work to the Music section. The full source for all my album tracks is available.

Where can I get lyrics for your songs?

In the lyrics section.

Where can I get guitar tabs of your songs?

You can get some on the tabs page.
